Birth name: Tamer Hosny Sherif Abbas Also known as: Star Of Generation Born: August 16, 1977 Origin: Cairo, Egypt Genres: R&B, pop, rock Occupations: Singer, lyricist, actor,composer Instruments: Vocals, electric guitar, guitar, piano, drums Years active: 2000–present Hosny's mother is Syrian, but she almost spent her lifetime in Egypt. She is a lonely mother that brought up Hosny and his elder brother Hossam in the absence of their father, Hosny Abbas. Tamer Hosny grew up with a passion for soccer and said to have played it professionally for 9 years. He was introduced by Salma El Shamaa to the Opera. Afterwords, he was recognized by Nasr Mahrous, the manager and owner of Free Music production company. Later on he signed a contract with Free Music in 2002. Tamer didn't debut, as most people believe, with Sherine's first mix tape. Instead, he was featured in previous mix tapes, and one of them featured other artists like Khaled Agag and Mohamed Mounir. He graduated from Six October University, with a Bachelor's degree in Media Studies. In 2006, he released his second album as a solo artist. Titled "Enayyah Bethebbak". The album was a great success in Egypt and the Middle East. At the end of March 2007, Hosny released his Third album "Ya Bent El-Eih" after long time working on it. The album featured thirteen songs, nine of them were stolen and leaked on the internet before it was released to the market almost a week before. The Egyptian media says about this album: "It's a nice album that considered to be his first real step in his musical life". In 2007 Tamer Hosny released an album of Islamic and Ramadan-themed songs, called Il-Ganna Fe Biotna (Heaven is in our Homes). It was released on 10 September 2007. In 2008, he released his fourth album as a solo artist. Titled "Arrab Kaman". The album made a great success in the Arab World. In 2009, He signed with Mazzika group ( owner Mr. Mohsen Gaber) he released his fifth album as a solo artist. Titled "Haeesh Hyati" including one English song named "Come Back To Me", it was his first English song . The album made an incredible success in the Arab World. In 2010 he released his second album with Mazzika group "Ikhtart Sa7" "I chose right" and that was really a right choice for him. Though this album also leaked on the internet a few days before it's release date, yet it had also made an enormous success that was measured by number of album selling and internet downloading poles. The King of Generation Tamer Hosny nominated as the best artist and won the African Music Award in London, Tamer also has been honored as one of the most important six icons in the world.
