Khaled Selim

Khaled Mohamed Selim Samarah an Egyptian artist, that was born in Kuwait on the 6th of November. He has two older brothers and one younger sister. He lived in Kuwait till He finished his High School, but used to spend his summer holidays in Egypt. At an early age he was very much Interested in Music, He used to listen to many types of music as his parents are music lovers. He was attracted to different types of music and cultures: Egyptian oldies, (like Om Kalthum, 3bdelwahab, 3bdelhalim, Warda and others) Gulf music, Lebanese, Heranian, Hendian and western songs and music. He used the first musical instrument He received – his harmonica – to play his favorite songs and melodies depending only on his hearing to guess the correct tunes. That was the time when his father noticed his talent and helped him to flourish: he bought him an organ (keyboard). That really helped him brush up on his artistic skill. Khaled participated into his School Band, during all his years of study, He was an active member in the school band. That helped him develop his talent even more. Such talent always used to strike his teachers who all supported him . However, his greatest supporters have always been his parents. This is one of the reasons the he will forever be grateful to them. He came back from Kuwait and settled in Cairo for his university study. He joined Cairo University and that was where he took the first step in his singing career. He joined the University band. For three consecutive years, He remained Cairo University Number One Singer. During those years, He received lots of tempting offers to sing at night clubs and hotels. However, He never accepted any of these offers; He believed that none of them was the best way to achieve his dreams; they were not the best investment for his talent. He believed that God Has better plans for him. Fortunately, He was right. 1st Album: Karim Kabbara The next step up the ladder was when He met Mr. Karim Kabbara, who really believed in him and his talent. Kabara produced his first album “3alam Tani” (Another World) that was released on the 28th of August, 2000. He also directed his first video clip "Alam Tani" that became a hit song. Second Album … A step further he was working with Mr. Tarek El-3eryan who noticed him singing at a concert. He offered him the chance to sing the sound track of the movie “El-Sellem Wel Te3ban” (Snakes and Ladders). He directed his second video clip “3eesh” (Live). Now, then back with his new album, “Wala Leila Wala Youm” (Not a Single Night). also back to working with Mr. Karim Kabbara who directed his third video clip “Wala Leila Wala Youm” (Not a Single Night). Four years later, in 2008 he joined in "Alam Elpan" that produced his album "Gayeb Any".
