Amr Youssef
Amr Youssef is a talented Egyptian singer, composer, and lyrics writer. Amr has graduated from The American University in Cairo (AUC), majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Music. At college, Amr studied music history, analysis, composition and prior to that in school, Amr has been nominated as "Musical Genius". During college days, Amr participated in a number of musical and singing concerts, events and activities on campus as well as represented Egypt and the University in International folkloric festivals in USA and in Lebanon.
Amr believes that there are so many touch-points that impact the lives of each one of us, one of which is our love relationship. However, the vast majority of Arabic songs only tackle this touch-point, ignoring all others. Amr has thus decided to address these other touch-points, which include: hope, freedom, love for one's country, family, friendship, happiness, , success, youth, equality, perseverance, self-actualization, serenity, and a lot more. Amr uses a positive-thinking approach to address these topics, which is the common thread among all of his songs and what defines his “Positive Singing” philosophy.
Amr's first album is called "Yalla" which summarizes his "positive singing" philosophy and released in October 2011. As the name implies, the song "Yalla" is about daring to dream and aspiring and working to make our dreams come true. The Album "Yalla" is composed of 10 songs addressing different topics and different musical genres all under the "positive singing" umbrella. It is produced and distributed by Mazzika in Egypt and the World.
